Thanks all, I do have a pevey bass that I installed an emg jazz p.u active, it is older like 20years ago. It looks like a single coil p.u and this has never given me a buzz/hum,,,the other basses I have dont have single coil, I guess the noise is normal when you use just the one p.u,

i didnt even play it, try to find one locally,good luck,I got a good deal on the fender, and for the most part it wont lose value. I would buy any guitar if its a good deal and I think I can flip it down the road if i need to.
