New head and cab, looking for advice.

My birthday is in August, and I'm looking to upgrade my amp (from a behringer 3000A) to Invalid Link Removed and Invalid Link Removed. Has anybody had any experience with these? Thanks.

Russian Big Muff vs Bass Big Muff Pi?

People do that, and it does help. If I'm understanding you, you're saying put an EQ pedal before it? Yeah, it's done, you'll still lose some low end though.

Fretless bass in non jazz music.

Steve DiGorgio from Death uses one, very effectively I might add.

    Guitar Center Stage Fright!!!

I get it too, I try to go when it's not busy if I'm looking to make a purchase, when I get my stack I'll have to get over it.

    Rob Trujillo strings.

I'll be buying new strings soon, and I'm leaning towards these cos I like his tone and I'm quite close to getting it now. I'm looking for that punchy middly/trebly attack sound. It's these, Dean Markley or Slinkys. Any help is appreciated Thanks :bassist:

Russian Big Muff vs Bass Big Muff Pi?

I prefer the Russian sound, purely because the bass Big Muff isn't dirty enough for me. I have a little big muff, but the fuzz I use most is the one off of my MXR bass di.

Great video of Pino Palladino letting loose with The Who

I have a subwoofer here and it didn't sound particularly huge. I wasn't big on the tone, but it was nice playing. Thanks for the vid!

    Mark Hoppus Is The Man

This was well put. I don't think much of him in terms of playing, but for getting kids into playing bass, he's got to be close to the top of the list beside guys like Flea.

What does a Seymour Duncan 1/4 Pounder Precision Pup sound like without a tone knob??

Out of curiousity, why don't you have one? I think the Mark Hoppus sig is fixed at being on a certain level, so it's not "no tone" as such, it's just oin the wiring.

Fender Stock pickups vs EMG's or Basslines.

Hey everybody, this is my first post. Basically what I'm looking to find out is if it'd be worth my while investing in some SD Basslines or EMG's for my Fender Jazz Deluxe 5? I put basslines into my first bass and it made a huge difference, but the tone on this is already huge and I'm unsure...
