What subgenre are you going for? If your cranking a ton of distortion go Solid State or Class D, I use a tube amp for clean tones. I've played Hardcore punk for years. Ampeg 810 for all of it along with a GK 700RBMK II with Boss ODB for distortion, or Fender Bassman 300 pro for the clean tones.
