Came back to mention that these strings absolutely brought my A string back to life. Rotos do sound different than the Dunlops but I am working through this. For now, it’s great to have all 5 strings available in this tuning. Thanks again @Prodigus Filius

Appreciate that second recommendation! I will definitely give D’Addarios a try after the Rotos. The floppy low A was a bummer. That’s where I play my E for a number of songs.

Thanks! There is not a lot of variety with roller retainers, unfortunately. They do help with tuning stability. Since I already drilled for the new tuners, I felt more comfortable drilling for a new string retainer. Thanks superheavyfunk for leading the way with replacing tuners. Next stage...

Here’s mine with USA Ultralites. As superheavyfunk mentioned, 1/2”adapters with tape worked great. Neck dive eliminated.

Do you play without a string retainer or did you replace it?
