I need to buy my first pedal

BRIGHT: When this switch is engaged, a more lively top end response [+6 dB at 2 kHz] is added to the input signal. Based on this, a parametric EQ like the Empress will do the trick. Make sure to not put it on the effects loop since the dB are added to the input signal. Before you buy it...

    Yamaha BB424/1024 pickups

Made a clip for your consideration. New bb1024 with GHS medium Boomers. Apologies for butchering that little fill in Money lol. Going straight to the audio interface from the DI output of my amp bypassing everything. Tone knob open all the way.

did not notice d, g string weakness on stingray

I just adjusted the pick up height an radius of the strings and that solved it for me. It took years for me to notice this on mine, it was only the C# (6th fret) on the G string, and very subtle. The bassier your tone is the more it's noticeable. It almost ruined playing Something by The...

Uneven output after adjusting pick up height

Opened her up and a magnet was in some corner of the cavity, simply reattached it. Sounds fine now. I will bring it up with the seller though, I shouldn't have to do this on a new item imo.

Uneven output after adjusting pick up height

I just got a new Yamaha BB1024x. It's perfect in every way, except that the D and G strings are noticeably much quieter when on the P pick up. I tried raising the blade that picks up those two strings, but the output is still much lower, almost no difference, and I can actually touch the pick up...

    YOUR TOP 3 BASS PEDALS...GO!

I've never seen it mentioned anywhere, wouldn't want people to think I chose that one just because it's so obscure.

    The Cure's Simon Gallup

I like his lines but I just can't stand how close to the bridge he picks, this is specially obvious live. It doesn't sound horrible, but I think so many of his lines would benefit from a neckier tone. My favorite line by him (although I think it may have been written by Robert) is probably...

    YOUR TOP 3 BASS PEDALS...GO!

SansAmp VT Bass and all of it's fancier brothers and forefathers. It's just magic in a box as far as I'm concerned. The regular old VTBass 1.0 is what I use and it's perfect. Actual 9 knob parametric EQ, I use a BYOC one. Can get rid of ugly noises, add color, and help you cut through a mix...

    Buying my first nice head

I'm looking at the Hartke 5500C. Spec-wise, for the price, it seems like a steal (I particularly like the switchable EQ and blend knob for wet/dry effects loop), but just to be sure, am I missing any other good options at that price range ($500)? I've seen the Ampeg Portaflex but the whole...

John Deacon: Isolated bass track to "Killer Queen" (1974)

Deacon is really something. He plays what is best for the song instead of being self indulgent, but he shows off his chops when the song calls for it. Btw if you could find the isolated bass track for this I would be so happy.

    Your "Always-on" pedal

Old Vox overdrive pedal with a tube in it + Sansamp VT bass + Parametric EQ are pretty much always on for me. The Sansamp is the real hero though.

    MM Stingray battery box shenanigans.

Long story short; the cables from the contact of the battery box to the pre-amp disconnected. It's a pretty clean split if it matters. I have a picture that I'll upload as soon as my internet stops acting out. My understanding is that if I strip the wires a bit and solder them back to the box...
