    Wrapped my bass

it was done by a vinyl wrap company in the UK. Cost would equate to about $100. A mate of mine did some more professional photos for the wrapping company to use on their website.

No offence taken. I know it won’t be to everyone’s taste. It does however protect the original finish from being damaged any further and is fully reversible.

They are EMG X pickups running at 18v(two batteries) into neck volume, bridge volume, tone and master volume. I didn’t mod it, it was done before I got it but the pots look like they are all EMG as well as they all have solderless compatible connectors. I will update the controls at some point...

    Wrapped my bass

Thinking about it a little more deeply, I suppose that everything we do as bass players is about provoking a reaction with a combination of what we play, how we play, how we look etc. I think I believe that the reaction is the important aspect, whether it’s positive or negative. Music is about...

    Wrapped my bass

I think it will add a little something to a gig and certainly creates a talking point. I’ve yet to gig it yet so will be interesting to see what response I get

I love the SR800. It was my first “proper” bass and I can’t imagine parting with it. The EMGX add a lot more to the mix. The only thing I want to do is change the controls to something with like BTC or BQC as the tone control is on one pot, individual pup volume pots and master volume pot. It...

    Wrapped my bass

It’s a vinyl wrap like those used on cars etc. The company is based in the UK. I supplied the image via email(found decent resolution one on internet), stripped the bass, dropped it off to them and collected it all wrapped. It was about $128 based on sterling exchange rate. I’m sure there are...

    Wrapped my bass

So it’s a vinyl wrap and the company(Vinyl Revolution in the UK) can do any image or photo as long as the resolution is suitable to be enlarged. I supplied the image, stripped the bass and they fitted it. Cost £100. I don’t know what that would be in $ maybe 90-95?? I’m sure there must be...

    Wrapped my bass

I didn’t wrap it as I’m not good at things like that. I’m amazed how they managed to get it all lined up. The company have wrapped the same image under the pickguard so I can take that one off if it gets marked and put a clear one on.

Thanks, I'm glad I got it back today as I have had to take my new Ibanez SR1820 in for a warranty repair due to a crackling and noisy blend pot! I've only had it 2 months!
