Wrapped my bass

So I decided to get my bass wrapped and being a bit of a Batman Fanboy especially The Killing Joke, there could only be one image for the wrap. The bass was originally a 1989 Ibanez SR800LE but had been modded with EMGX pups and a custom pick guard before I bought it.

The wrap is just the front of the bass and the back is still gloss black along with the headstock and neck.

Really like that I fancy having the Jack Daniels label on my Peavey Foundation.

Cool. I am thinking of getting one of my bands album covers or one of my favorite photos applied to my Fury p bass

You could take those old black basses and put a burst wrap on them. Result!!

Another, easier trick is to just wrap your pickguard. At first I wrapped this entire pickguard red, then decided to reduce it like this.

I appreciate it might not be to everyone's taste but then life would be boring if we all liked the same thing. The wrap is also very easy to take off if I ever sold it.

That’s awesome man! I’m always impressed with wraps, I don’t understand how they do it without slits, image distortion, or wrinkles at the edges.
I’ve watched videos of how they do it and I STILL don’t understand. I would absolutely pay for installation on this.

This was more of a DIY than the OP's - in the sense that I applied it myself. The edges are a bit rough, but it "reads" fine from the crowd.

As luck had it, Adam Hughes (the artist - AH!) visited our local comic shop a few months after I did it...

I think it will add a little something to a gig and certainly creates a talking point. I’ve yet to gig it yet so will be interesting to see what response I get

Thinking about it a little more deeply, I suppose that everything we do as bass players is about provoking a reaction with a combination of what we play, how we play, how we look etc. I think I believe that the reaction is the important aspect, whether it’s positive or negative. Music is about feeling something. I don’t expect everyone to like my choices with this bass but I love the fact it creates discussion and opinions.
