That growl is all about the humbucker in the sweet spot. I love me a Stingray, and plan on buying a 4 string in black cherry with a rosewood fretboard.

I didn't mean biamping, sorry. I meant how GK has the seprate 'woofer' and 'tweeter' volume knobs. Would those still be in use with an Avatar? Or would I have to use a 2 conductor speakon cable and use only the woofer control and the tweeter volume on the cab?

8x10? at 5'6" I'm not getting that into the van any time soon. I plan on using a 4x10 and 2x12 stack. Think that'd push enough air without having two fridges on stage?

What would be the largest venue recommended for the 700-RBII? I plan on starting with a single 8 ohm cab, so It would be somewhere from 250-300 watts. Solid state watts make me nervous, and I know the 1001 goes 375 into 8 ohms.
