New family portrait... The 5-string Fender is more or less sold, but it's still in the house so still in the family. 5-string Lakland coming in January :)

Thanks :) It's an iPhone pic, so flash would have made it absolutely horrible to see... This is my "temporary" collection: the Fender 5-string is practically sold and I have ordered a Lakland 55-60 Trans White.

I like the Celinder a lot,...although I have heard a little anecdote that they (he) don't have the greatest Customer Service. Not sure how true that is.

EDIT: I researched the Megathread and confirmed the lack of Customer Service.

Here is a quick iPhone pic of some stuff I found when I cleaned out my music room.....There are five not pictured in here though. Wow this is a bad pic....maybe I should try using my good camera...

What time(s) do you work, and where do you live? :ninja: Nice collection there! That Rick is sexy.

I am looking for a vintage Japanese bass. Now I found this bass in my local area. It has no name on the head, but I think the brand name tag was gone.
I think it is Teisco or Guyatone, but I'm really not sure at all.
I don't want to buy online a plywood bass.:rollno:

anyone knows?

Dean Eric Bass Hillsboro, Schecter Custom-5 with black hardware and EMG Jazz pickups, and a '81 Rickenbacker 4001

Do you have sound clips of that Schecter? Are there any other mods you did to it? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I've been looking to mod my Schecter and I have no idea what to do with it. I'm torn between J/J, P/J, or even P/Humbucker. Other than that I know I want the BQS system (my Schecter is the three band Studio 5). If you could help at all with opinions, I'd appreciate it heavily!

Little bit of G.A.S. going on for one of these, but impossible until I have a LOT more money!

I picked up this bass new in 2000 (a 98 model; sat on the rack for two years) for $1500. I bought it from Moes in Virginia Beach VA. I initially went into a now defunct Mars music (big box store) with cash in hand thinking I'd get the best deal. Couldn't get any service. I walked out of there with my cash and popped into a place I new had one. The owner price matched and hooked me up!!

These days I think the Thumb BOs go for $2500.

There is definitely a love hate relationship with these though. If you can get used to the chunky neck (or prefer it) you get a really growly, punchy tone. It's no one trick pony though. Roll back the highs,...solo the neck pickup and play fingerstyle up near the neck and you get a nice thumpy reggae type sound. Pulls off burp really well too,...roll the neck pick up off a bit, pull the bass on the preamp back and set the highs to the center detent and do Jaco proud.

My band was groovin at rehearsal last night and my bass was just sounding on so I'm pretty high on it at the moment.

Nice collection, especially the single coil Franken-P, but that Stingray sure looks like a Sterling.
