Thanks for your contributions so far! I‘m not necessarily set on fanned frets, I‘m just used to them because of my NG-2. I eye a six string bass because we‘re a 3-piece band and playing chords is sometimes rather fitting and a five string bass, unless strung E-C, won’t let me do that.

I'm really considering getting a six string bass and I'm pretty biased towards a Dingwall ABZ 6, but I do not know many other six string basses. I'm eager to read about your experiences and recommendations :)

Here is a pic of mine and a close-up of the outer material for those who are interested. Behind the Kapsule is a M80 Vertigo. The material goes in the same direction, however, I think the Sharkskin from Mono is superior. It feels more rugged imo.

Does anyone of you Ibanez- Pros know if it would be possible to replace the preamp of a EHB with a Darkglass Tone Capsule ? Would the number of ´knobs ´ add up or would there be a hole in the bass left ? Thanks in advance

Is it possible to convert a two pickup abz6 into a three pickup version ? The bridge pickup is slightly differently angled than the neck pickup.
