Drivers go belly up in one of 2 ways: 1) by burning the coil. By putting too much energy into it. Lets say you get a 250W driver. Put 500W through it for enough time (minutes?) and it will overheat until burning. Ruined driver, mission accomplished. 2) by mechanical damage from over excursion...
