    MUDDY BASS

A standard tuned guitar doesn't reproduce much of anything below 100Hz (100Hz is a little above the 3rd fret on the low E string. When I run sound (and just about anyone who can legitimately claim to be an audio engineer will put a HPF around 100Hz on a guitar. A common thing I hear from guitar...

Whats the Easiest Gig You've Ever Played?

I played a breakfast fundraiser with my high school musical cast. We did Those Magic Changes from Grease. Played that song (in front of 1200+ people) and got $50 and a good breakfrast. By the time we were off stage at least 10 people had approached me and the lead singer about performing other...

    Locking up gear

First off, I'd like to say you guys rock! The rollertop desk is exactly the kind of thing that we are looking for. Not what we're looking to spend but I've talked to my shop teacher about it and he made it sound pretty easy so that's probably what will be done, unless someone knows of a 6ft...

    Locking up gear

The reason that we're looking for a way of looking it up is so i don't have to bring any of my own stuff there. The school already has an ATA case... Are there any ATA cases where I can keep everything plugged in and locked up at the same time? I don't want to plug everything in everytime i use it.

    Locking up gear

I've been asked to be part of the tech crew at my high school for next year and the 4 of us were talking about what we wanted to do yesterday and we all agreed that we needed a way to lock of the sound board in the auditorium. Ideally we would be able to leave it set up and ready to go and just...

Is it wrong for bass builders to charge for certain options?

All of the potentiometers would have to be flipped. Some pickups have the wires only coming out of one side and un-balanced windings. Bridges need to be assembled differently. Along with the body and pickguard and asymetrical necks being made differently. That kinda leaves nothing but the nut...

    Bass Northwest

Not going to lie. I love the guys there. I go in there every couple of months and see what they have and talk to the guys. I even bought my Warwick Corvette there. When I went to have a little surgery done (little set-up, electronic problems i couldn't diagnose) they charged me $20 for a little...

what is a rocktron all access

I would personally trust Bongomania's advice much more than my own but as far as I can tell, the rocktron patchmate loop does exactlly what you are asking for, and it costs about 1/4th what the all access costs.

what is a rocktron all access

You wouldn't want to deal with trying to hook up stompboxes to it. If you wanted to control what stompboxes are on,this is an example of what you want.

Double Bass I need another bass. Unique situation.

There's no point in having the appearance of an upright if you're not going to be heard. I've played multiple uprights through a 4X12 and couldn't get the volume i needed without serious feedback. Tell the band director that an electric will work better. As long as it doesn't get really wet...

Amp issue, newbie help please! (weird noises)

I'm not a tube guy so i couldn't tell you about if it's bad tube (everyone else said it is so it probably is) but I've had bad power connections and bad instrument output/input connections make all sorts of crazy noises. Also, a dirty volume pot might makes a hissing noise sometimes.

Double Bass navigating an s-load of changes ...

Ok. Ignore probably isn't the right word to use but I know everyone has seen a set of changes where ther is an obvioius I chord then 2 beats later there is the exact same chord that has been rephrased. If the I is C7 (C, E, G, Bb) then there is a Em(b5) (E, G, Bb), Em6 (E,G,C) etc..., the second...

Double Bass navigating an s-load of changes ...

One thing that makes it easier for me is to find chords that are "redundant" and ignore them. There's a good chance that the majority of the chords are just different ways of phrasing the same chord.

    Modal Song Suggestions.

Not exactly rock but Herbie Hancock and later stuff by Miles Davis are 2 that are definately worth checking out.
