EBS flat patch cables rock! I ended up using four different lengths by trial-and-error and have a few left over (which often get used elsewhere), but planning out your board on Pedal Playground etc. helps you predict what you'll need.

Hey phattybass, I realize this is ancient history, but how did your pickup upgrade go for your Ibanez SR485? I'm also thinking about finally improving the questionable sound from mine. Any suggestions would help, thanks!

Thank you very much! I don't know how I missed that--it's right in the manual. It works like a charm for solo practicing. I would just tune my bass live, but if it works for you in a particular pinch and allows you to focus on playing, why not?

Thanks for all the input. ;) Yes, switching the XLR to be post-effects incorporates the tuner mute along with the rest of the effects. Maybe I can petition Zoom to somehow allow tuner muting with the pre-effects mode in a firmware update (as long as other TBers don't mind).
