    Show your tidy pedalboard!

The OvniFX Smoothie is a "boutique" compressor by someone who knows a little something about compressors--check out his reviews and FAQ at www.ovnilab.com and the Smoothie at www.ovnifx.com. Zachary Rizer has a great review: There are Talkbass threads dedicated to it. I'm a newbie user but so...

    Show your tidy pedalboard!

Update to my post #78 a year ago: on the same Pedaltrain Jr., T-16 octave --> Alpha-Omega dirt --> loop blending previous with sub-loop of blended Green Russian reissue & Animato fuzz --> Filter Twin --> Smoothie compressor --> B3 multi-fx. Ditched the clean Sansamp DI out before dirt, which let...

US: Midwest 2020 Chicago area GTG - POSTPONED

Wikipedia: "Salad days" is a Shakespearean idiomatic expression meaning a youthful time, accompanied by the inexperience, enthusiasm, idealism, innocence, or indiscretion that one associates with a young person." I first heard this expression used by Nicolas Cage's character in the Coen...

US: Midwest 2020 Chicago area GTG - POSTPONED

Man, reading the posts above makes me nostalgic for the salad days. I suppose each piece of gear will need to be placed at least 6' from each other. Good thing music travels without contact. Stay healthy people!

Eric Church - Drink In My Hand

Thanks for the tab--I also need to learn this first "country" song of mine for a wedding. Sounds like the bassist had some fun recording it!

I'll try to make it, especially if it's on the 17th. It'd be my first!

EBS flat patch cables rock! I ended up using four different lengths by trial-and-error and have a few left over (which often get used elsewhere), but planning out your board on Pedal Playground etc. helps you predict what you'll need.

    Show your tidy pedalboard!

On svelte Pedaltrain Jr., with good-not-great tidiness under the hood: Korg tuner to EBS compressor to Cog Effects octave to "hairy" Sansamp DI/woofer-out to Boss line selector with "dirty" loop (Darkglass α/Ω) and "filthy" sub-loop (another Boss line selector blending sub-sub-loops of Animato...

    Putting barts in an Ibanez

Hey phattybass, I realize this is ancient history, but how did your pickup upgrade go for your Ibanez SR485? I'm also thinking about finally improving the questionable sound from mine. Any suggestions would help, thanks!

    Zoom B3 tuner

The Zoom B3 tuner rocks. However, I wish: (a) you could press once and get tuner + mute (besides people testing their perfect pitch so they can brag about it, who uses tuner without mute anyway?) and (b) the tuner mute also affected the "pre" XLR out so you can also mute a clean...

to Zoom B3 owners: can it to drop tuning?

Thank you very much! I don't know how I missed that--it's right in the manual. It works like a charm for solo practicing. I would just tune my bass live, but if it works for you in a particular pinch and allows you to focus on playing, why not?

Can Zoom B3 output dry signal but with tuner mute?

Thanks for all the input. ;) Yes, switching the XLR to be post-effects incorporates the tuner mute along with the rest of the effects. Maybe I can petition Zoom to somehow allow tuner muting with the pre-effects mode in a firmware update (as long as other TBers don't mind).
