    Mesa PH610 v PH810

Hey Guys, i'm in the market for either a mesa PH610 or PH810. Apart from, the obvious differences (size, weight, watts etc) is there any main tone difference between them. I have an ampeg 610 and know there is a difference in tone between that and an Ampeg 810. are the mesa powerhouses the...

    Recording band arguments

Nah our drummer is cool. problem is the producer is asking what we want in the mix. so if the guitarist says more guitars he'll probably put more in.

    Recording band arguments

Hey guys, My band has just recorded it's first EP. we are a 4 piece hard rock band (vox, guitar, bass and drums) we are currently in the revision phase before mastering and release. My problem is what to do and how to approach other band members over standing your ground on the bass lines? I...

    Mesa options

Tone goals....well we are more Hard rock, but I have my own kinda sound. kinda old disturbed meets Jason Newsted, good low end with punch, clarity and a but of scratchy twang coming through. I am legally blind so I have to actually fit it in the wife's Hyundai IX35. the heavy lifting is not too...

    Mesa options

Haven't explored the 410 plus 210 option yet. I have a ampeg 610hlf atm that fits perfectly in the car. the 610 option always seems easier to move in one unit and a good size no matter the venue. I have heard the ph1000 doesn't have as much punch and clarity as the 610. the ph1000 is a little...

    Mesa options

Yeah looked at the Bergantino but nothing has jumped out at me about it....I know lots of people love it. but a bit to spend on it without tryin it. tried the M9 with the mesa ph410 and was crystal clear and a great sound.

    Mesa options

the new 600 Watt M9. as I said very limited in Oz getting some mesa stuff. the A# reference was easier as we play in a drop A# variant.

    Mesa options

Hey TB'ers, Currently thinking of getting a mesa rig. I would be getting the Mesa M9 Carbine. but the dilemma is what cab? I have mainly played 610's. Being in Australia it's hard to actually play any mesa cabs bigger than a 410 as no one stocks them. (in Melbourne anyway) Question is what...

    Ampeg Svt-3 or Svt-7

I do miss the tube growl of the SVT 3 and the 9 band Eq helps with removing some of he muddy lows when playing. Someone was trying to tell me the tubes and mosfet amp in the SVT 3 would get a good volume compared to the D class amp in the svt 7.

    Ampeg Svt-3 or Svt-7

Hey all, instead of sorting through al the threads I want to just ask the question. Will a SVT3 compete with a SVT7 in volume through a ampeg 610hlf cab? I ask as I have a SVT7 but do miss the SVT3 sound (had one awhile ago). but I do like the headroom in the SVT7. I do like that pushing...

    String ideas for drop tuning

Hey Guys, I know these threads get done to death but scrolling through looking for answers gets tedious. Basically...What do you recommend for a drop C# tuning on a 5 string keeping the top string in A#. (A# C# Ab C# F#). I like a good tension and a lot of bottom end with a nice mid cut...

    Sadowsky change to EMG

Hey, thanks for the replies. still looking at the emg's . Probably just the plain EMG 40J soapbar. but I also still want to keep the same preamp that comes with the sadowsky and have the active/passive option if possible.
