Just picked up a used EHB1000 online and I noticed the pickup balancer knob is dead when fully counterclockwise. I checked for a loose or disconnected wire but didn’t see anything. Anyone have any similar experience with these? The pot itself or the pickup bad? Still sounds really good and love...

Yes it is not necessarily the bass but also the cabling or any pedals you might be using that could be adding hiss that the amp would just be amplifying. So it is an easy test, if it does it with nothing else plugged in, you know it is coming from the amp.

Does it only do it when your bass is plugged in or does it do it with no input as well?

Yes mine is all original, I resoldered the wiring when I got it and it looked and sounded great.
