, anything else you could help shine light on? And what is that compression effect that was discussed I wonder?Many people prefer ceramic magnets (weight aside). Neos tend to extend lower at the expense of coherence or evenness in my experience but it really depends on the implementation. That's why Bergantio and EBS still offer ceramics in their "reference" lines. I don't know many people who prefer neos other than for the weight savings but that's just one consideration.
In this case the ceramic loaded cabs are very light (11,2kg measured on my suitcase scale).
Ceramic drivers have a tendency of sounding less harsh and compress in a musical way.
It reminds me a bit of AlNiCo magnets in PUs vs ceramic magnets (which do sound way more harsh, some might say, clearer or more defined) and have less string proximity effects when you play high up the neck. In my case, i like the fatness you get when playing, let's say a G on the A string as opposed to the same note on the D or G string.
There is some way of "coherence" with ceramic drivers that I did not find in Neo drivers so far (Aguilar db series vs SL, series for example)

I have a pair of the 15" version coming in today. I don't plan on keeping them stock but I'll put some miles on them before changing anything.

At first I was put off by the hype, then decided to try them anyways.
Despite the extensive bracing, quite a bit of panel vibration can be felt through the cabs at higher levels. A trade off for the light weight inexpensive materials used.
They don't sound bad overall, but I would rather have a well braced lightweight wood cabinet for a similar amount of cash and higher weight.
Depends on how important those last 20lbs are to you.

I'm still really keen to hear from anyone using any of the new series MB. The weight is a great advantage, to this old man...but..if they don't perform, (or travel well), they be another expensive "fail to launch"..the missus is getting tired of " I know I just bought it, but, really don't like it.."
In the end I sold the two 121 P as the piezo thing is REALLY nasty in the high end. Instead I got a 122PURE, with Neos and a "HIFI" tweeter.
This one I like very much, very pleasing highs (even though I am plying passive PJs).
As for the carpet on the cabs: once you are using the MB Cab angle thing, the carpet keeps coming off VERY easily form the cab

That new series of cabinets is insanely light. It's one thing to read their weight but lifting them at GC gives a real sense of how light they are.
Even the 4x10 is no effort whatsoever to lift and move. They sound good too. They are not as warm as the previous generation of cabs but on the positive side of things they tend to be more tone neutral.

I ended up purchasing 2 x Bergantino NXV210s, and 1 x NXV112. Not as light as the new series MBass , but , definitely couldn't say they are heavy. The tone I'm getting, is perfect for my needs. Paired with an Aguilar AG700, my "rig" sounds great, is an easy lug, and is capable of serious SPL..
Iv had for a few months, played plenty gigs, some outside, very happy with it all.
