i can get quite a good low vol tone with an eq at bed room level,take it to our rehersal room plug my 15s in turn it up but it looses the bassness and breaks up quite early,ok if u do thrash,i do like abit of grit but not that!!

i have got hold of a jcm 900 higain but too distorted, how would a 1960 sound with an eq pedel in the fx loop? hows it sound between half and one on the vol??

I see a few have mb 450h i have one these and about to put it up for sale as i hate the sound its to harsh and bright i cant get sound i like.i also have a jcm 900 with an eq pedal in the loop i was playing bass thro but theres not enough bottom end for me and distrots to early im in to clean...

check out a bassest called Alan Davey ex hawkwind now has a band called gunslinger he uses a 50 watt bassman ,either thro 215 on its own,or 212 +115,he uses a ric has the thing running full,0 bass,middle n treb full the thing really grinds,but with hawkwind got some nice bass tones,or bi amps...

lemmys main bass in hawkwind was the hopf,that got nicked and he used the tbird for a while (the one in the videos) its the last year with hawkwind he used the ric after deciding the tbird neck was too long. heres my fave ric......another ex hawks bassest alan davey...made in the 80s out of...

The secret to lemmys sound,i got a ric and a tbird is fact he uses a 100 watt valve cranked right up the settings are as above, natural distortion i can get same sound with an active ibanez,so its treble, no bass, amp full chat off u go!! He dont use any pedles,another ex hawks bass player...

alan davey!!! who was influenced by.....LEMMY....lemmy is the ric icon he was on totp more than the others also its lucky that ric made thin necks as if he found his gibsons comfetable ....the rest as they say is history!!
