Official Marshall Amp Club!

A couple of birthdays back, my wife gifted me with a Marshall 1550 cab: 1x15 Celestion, 200 watts @ 8 OHMS.

Purchased from Atlanta Bass Gallery; with only a small, repairable tear in tolex, otherwise it looks "new".

Research says it is a mid '80s vintage cab. It is very light; would compete with modern neo cabs IMHO.

Although I haven't gigged with it..NO GIGS, it sounds great. I have run my 1971 Kustom B200 and 1974 Acoustic 370 head through it with no issues; sounds better than my '71 Kustom 2x15: CTS and much, much lighter.

Handles low B at volume; no distortion.

I remember when you got that. Cabs and all. Why are you selling it? Are you also selling the cabs?

Wow...it's been awhile! I think it was Christmas '09...ish.

I really enjoyed it and I couldn't find anything wrong with them, but I kinda got caught up with some different music that lends itself more to that tubey Ampeg sound. Last week I found a killer deal on an SVT, so I pulled the trigger. As for the cabs, those went about a year ago when I found a great deal on an 810e. I traded both the 410 and the 115 together for a USA Jazz V.

My MB450 is in showroom mint condition, and I'm thinking that if it doesn't get any bites, I may just hold it as a backup if the SVT blows a tube or whatever. Feel free to bump me! :help:

For the record, my wife had a role in this whole thing...:smug:

I see a few have mb 450h i have one these and about to put it up for sale as i hate the sound its to harsh and bright i cant get sound i like.i also have a jcm 900 with an eq pedal in the loop i was playing bass thro but theres not enough bottom end for me and distrots to early im in to clean subsonic atm!! Mb450... Not for me!!

What you need is a VBA 400. You will get all you dreaming of and more. Just a wee bit expensive but worth it.

Hi all

1st post and already showing my combo.

I bought this one yesterday at an outlet store.
They had it from another store that closed. I know it's an old model but it was never used and it sounds great! :)

I have visited the Marshall Factory in England this summer. They still make VBA bass amps and VBC cabs. Somebody order one they will built it.

My guess, maybe a new line of valve bass amp. It's just a guess, nobody at the factory said that. But at the same time, they said they will not abandoned their Bass line products...so time will tell.
