    Gimme a bright S.O.B.

nope, never have. I picked up some nicklewound d'arrdio's today, but I haven't had the change to string my bass (I've got SATs this week, so i don't wanna distract myself that much). I'll look for hi beams though

    Gimme a bright S.O.B.

Ok, so I've had issues a lot. I can't seem to find strings that i like. I've tried a variety of strings, including slinkies (I liked the tone, but they last for about 3 days) blue steels(awesome, absolutely awesome, for about 7 minutes) nicklewound d'arddios or whatever (don't REALLY remember...

    Do you like this?

Lol, people are dicks. I liked it. As much as it was noise oriented, it was cool.

    Treble/punch

I am just kidding, but, honest to god almighty, if I play close enough to the bridge (about at the edge of my pickup, where I normally pick) there's no difference in sound. trust me, I've tried. I've tested.

    Treble/punch

d'arcy, chick; guy from interpol, goth; bassists from the Smashing Pumpkins, mostly chicks. All use picks. On the flip side- Flea, man; Claypool, man; Wooten, manly man. Either use finger or slap (or both AT THE SAME TIME). Like I said though, my bass doesn't distinguish pick from finger

    Treble/punch

very new strings (blue steels :bawl:). I'm not good with a pick. Plus my bass doesn't really the the difference; pick or finer, it gets a pretty crisp sound. Plus, picks are for girls

    Treble/punch

To clarify, not saying that a Peavey Combo 300 isn't a bad idea (grant bang for the buck), but I want something with NO, I mean NO mud or muffled low ends. I mean, I want the CLEAREST lows that you can hear. I hate to use another nirvana allusion, but listen to in bloom. The f# that Krist plays...

    Treble/punch

Hi, I have a 15 watt fender rumble, and it's clear to me that I need a new amp. I have an OLP stingray, and I'm looking for a better, louder amp. I'm really not looking for something on the deep end; I really want something with great, ringing mids and treble, and packs a ******** of punch...

    I'm dumb, I know

Anyone know where to install the 9volt in a beringer compressor sustainer pedal (CS100)? I've unscrewed it, but I have no idea

    YOU on youtube.... Yes, please.

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed] O.k., none of them are great, but I'd appriciate it if someone comented on them. For clarification, I've been playing for about 6 months.

How good am I/how good should I be

It's a question im sure pops into every beginner's head; am i making progress, or do I straight up suck. I've been playing for about 6 months now on a Stagg Bc300 (joy of all joys), and I'm wondering, given my taste in music (rage against the machine & the chili peppers) how well should I be...

SIMPLE bass lines that make the song...

you stole my song. Honestly, there aren't to many rage songs that AREN't bass oriented. That said, none of them are all that hard. having said that, without a face comes into mind

rumble 15 and the weird click

Ok, i've got a pretty goofy amp. I bought it used for a good price, but upon playing on it, i noticed something kind of weird. Occasionally, when i play my bass, a weird click will be heard. Sounds a lot like chalk being tapped on a blackboard. It only seems to happen when I touch a string; i...

    What is your dream setup?

hmm. Bass: Fender p-bass, Fender J-bass, OLP stingray. All plain white- i'll "customize" them with a couple of sharpies, stickers, and spraypaint. Amp: anything better than the clicking P.O.S i have now. goddamn rumble 15 piece...

    pickguards

Link Removed the bc-300n. it has an identical shape to the fender p-bass and 3 volume knobs, but i'm pretty sure the body is smaller. here are the specs: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
