    SHAAAME: Your Spotify Wrapped

You don't want, like... music? Right there, at all times, ready to do your diabolical bidding? TB even has a Spotify playlist for those of us in vaguely presentable bands.

Hell yea brother. Wow I was a petulant 15-year-old when I signed up, myself. Who knew the unspeakably cool handle of *ToNeS* would haunt me with cringe well into mid-life? Humbling.

    Whatcha watching?

He's not Australian, but I consider Matt Berry a national hero. The most deeeevious bah-stahd in... NEEEW YAWK CIT-AAAAAAY  This thread - if it wasn't before, I don't know, I just sort of barged in because I'm a couch potato looking for love - is now certified Badass.

    Whatcha watching?

THE LANGOLIERS. On the airplane? I'm having a real moment. I remember The Stand freaking me out so much when I was a kid (that opening scene with Gary Sinise is just wild), but watching it again as an alleged adult... that is 1,000 hours that are now gone and they have gone nowhere fun. Prime...

    SHAAAME: Your Spotify Wrapped

It's that time again where Spotify's algorithm EXPOSES US ALL in a naked slow-walk from the Great Sept of Baelor to the Red Keep. Post your lowlights, gentlepeople, so we might hurl rotting produce and fecal matter at one another's dark secrets.

    Whatcha watching?

Okay so my fave streaming service is Prime because there is some renegade goblin on the back-end loading it up with unseemly trash from the '70s, '80s and '90s. Last night it was Stephen King telemovie Sometimes They Come Back. Though I don't think one really has to qualify a Stephen King...

Opeth's new record, 'The Last Will And Testament'

As a (formerly) diehard Opeth fan that fell off circa Heritage when they moved away from grrr and leaned too far into '70s prog sensibilities for my personal tastes, I almost can't believe this record. It's like they finally said, "You know what: We can have both." Keen to hear everyone's...

    Song about mental health

I'm sorry I missed this awesome reply, friend. Thank you so much for taking the time and it's really heartening to know that The Care Is Out There (even though in my case sometimes it sounds like odd time signatures and Logic synths!).

    Song about mental health

So I thought I'd write and record a song about ~mental health~ and it came out like this. No I don't know why I decided the whole thing had to be in 5/8. It just seemed to me to be a rhythmic state of mind that aped the feeling of perpetually being on the edge? It's also been interesting to...

    Song about mental illness

Literally all of The Outsider also makes me think of a lot of people I've met that haven't ended up in the best places later in life.

    Song about mental illness

Yes, I'm sorry, I was a bit overtaken at the time I posted it (and I also didn't want to take away from the sentiment/message of the piece by being all like Hey yeah this is about me!): This is all my music. Drums, singing, mixing, mastering. The synth and things are of course programmed. I...

    Song about mental illness

I've never been in a relationship with someone with a severe mental illness before. I haven't really figured out how to process it all yet, but I think what my brain is doing is making music. I came up with this lately and I felt compelled to share it? I mean therapy is expensive. If someone...

Are the vocals mixed too high on this?

Thanks heaps, peeps. Been driving me mental! A lot of bands I've been digging lately (Sleep Token, Leprous, Tesseract) have similarly sort of 'eccentric' vocalists that are really up front and I like this, but goodness it is very difficult to get right when you're in the chair. Hats off to them...
