You're so right! I keep thinking that buying new basses will give me more options, but in the end I just make them sound like each other :D I'll reveal the correct answers tomorrow :)

Hi @MJT I just received my Sandberg Lionel and I have exactly the same issues. I love the build quality, but I really don't like the "harsh" bright sound. Did you manage to change the pickups and how did it work out?

I never modded any bass, but I really like the chrome pickup cover. Where do you buy this? Does it require specific dimensions? I see Thomann is selling "chrome humbucker pickup covers" Gibson PRPC-010 this? Thx

When I play short scale basses seated, I always use the other knee (the classical way) works much better

Great thread! The Grez Mendocino Bass is also a great looking, great sounding sustainable short scale semi hollow bass (loosely based on the Danelectro Shorthorn) Kinda expensive though, but stunning.. and available left handed if you want: https://www.grezguitars.com/mendocinobass Image by...
