White Budgie?
I go back and forth on this. I think I really want a White Falcon, but it’s a lot of money.I once had an Epi Rivoli , and sold it , and regretted that. So when the Eastwood popped up on kijiji I jumped and snagged it for a good used price.
It sounds better than the Rivoli. And I like having a good sized hollow body around.
The Gretsch Electromatic 5442 price is misleading.I'm not 100% certain, but the Eastwood appears to be identical to the Harley-Benton version, but with a different brand name slapped on it.
The Harley-Benton is only about $200, which is maybe worth it as an experiment (they're apparently really good).
They're both copies of the Gretsch Electromat, which itself is only about $800.
Lots of info here: Hollowbody Bass Club!I really want one. I’m not looking for a do it all bass, but something semi hollow that really embraces the feel, sound and quirkiness a semi hollow provides.
Budget: I’m thinking 1,200-1,800
I think I want 30” scale, as I’ve head the neck length with the large body can be uncomfortable.
I’m thinking The Guild Starfire II in the natural flame maple.
Should I consider anything else?

It definitely checks all the boxes. I just wish they weren’t burgundy or whatever that color isGretsch
Electrotone made in Japan
Electromatic made in South Korea
A used Electrotone 6119 Broadkaster would really do it for you.
