I guess I'm alone now (band totally destroyed)

hem must have missed the memo but everyone hates standard 9 to 5 jobs. I'll admit I don't know your guy's story. But if you have a situation, and in this situation this band mate just doesn't want to have to get a "regular" job and is homeless because of it, I mean that seems a bit ridiculous...

Does using a pick help strings last longer? (round-wound)

That's pretty jarring. I change my strings often enough to where I don't really notice. The only time ive had issues is when i abused the living daylights out of the strings in my acoustic guitar, so much that i got them all cut up nicely as I was strumming without a pick. Ended up painting the...

Does using a pick help strings last longer? (round-wound)

Even if we can assume it's true (I don't believe anyone has done the effort to out scientific evidence for the examination of strings under a microscope using rigerous testing, so excuse my predisposition of assuming this is a fabricated assumption therefore i won't be sifting through the...

Used vs New - repaint or a waste of time?

To be honest anything DIY is not for me. I'd rather have someone know what they're doing in the event I decide it necessary to have the instrument stripped of its paint, sanded, and then repainted. It's a hassle but I'm after the same end result, whether the instrument is new or old. I like the...

Used vs New - repaint or a waste of time?

I've had my eye on a particular bass model for some time and it finally went on sale. It's extremely beautiful. There's just one slight problem. The back of the instrument has its coating of paint all scratched up, and the back side of the wing had so much paint rubbed off that there's a small...

    Reasonable? Unreasonable?

IIRC, he asked the question if it is reasonable or unreasonable. I explained why I think it's unreasonable. It sounds like ranting and raving rather than a genuine grievance. At least, to me it sounds like that. But that's just my opinion and we can express it. Freedom is great.

$65 P/J basses on Ebay? Who will be the first to buy one?

Hell naw, ever heard of the law of diminishing returns? When you start considering high end premium basses ($7,000+) you'll end up crossing some undefined threshold to where you're actually getting less and less in return for your money.. Likewise, the cheaper you go, the opposite happens...

    Reasonable? Unreasonable?

Oh no, things happen. Life goes on. I don't mean to come off as a snob but why is that the seller's problem? I'm sorry you're in a bit of a bind. I know how much that sucks. But this just feels like ranting and raving for the sake of ranting and raving. You expected the world to stop so that...

We say No to “Pay to Play”

This is like paying your own boss for the privilege of working at your day job.

    "The neck is almost straight."

From my own experience getting screwed over on more than a few occasions, I think your best bet is to assume the neck is warped. Then you can decide on whether or not that's a deal breaker, or within what you consider acceptable.

    What's in your Music Library?

Nightwish, lol. but i've since just started streaming everything now and i found lots of bands. Spiritbox is the most recent. Something about this band makes my skin crawl and I love it.

I'm not into expensive basses at all.

For me it depends on what speaks to you, not so much the price. If you see yourself playing one of those high end bass in your hands and you know for a fact that you need it, and you just become the instrument, then that's your path. On the other hand, more $$$ =/= best result. For some...
