    Please explain this to me...

it’s a single pickup install because it’s a single staggered pickup. Although this situation is a simple swap, if it needed routing in the wood it’s done with a single staggered template, so it’s a single pickup rout. Yup, someone who doesn’t know basses entered the wrong info in the computer.

Let's see those Work Horse Basses!

I LIKE this one! The body detail and the reverse slant on the pickups, and those individual saddles, who makes those, or are they Dingwall custom pieces?

Thanks. It’s been with me for 44 years and that’s kind of scary

The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

It’s loud and growling when plugged in and it likes to rip peoples heads off. It doesn’t play well with others and won’t be upstaged by a guitar solo. 1973 Fender Precision Bass that I bought from King James Music in ‘74 ( it was new old stock). It was my first real bass. The body, neck...

Thanks and yeah it sounds like you’re playing a bass and a 12-string guitar at the same time. It’s great if you’re in a three piece band because it really fills in when the guitar player solos. But my current band feels like I’m stepping on the guitars

I waited 20 years to order this and just in time too. Ordered in 2008 and delivered in 2010, this was the last 12-String Standard Bass Hamer made, and only around 50 more Hamer instruments were made before FMI pulled the plug. 2010 Hamer 12-string Standard Bass. Transparent black top &...

I Love that color, and the checkered binding on the body too.

I’ve pared down from 8 basses to 3. Here’s the main one that I use. 1981 4-digit Hamer Standard Bass. Transparent Red. Single piece Honduran Mahogany body. 2-piece bookmatched flame maple veneer top. 2 Original (neck & bridge) PAF Dimarzio X2N humbuckers. 1 Added (middle) PAF Dimarzio X2N...

ATTN: Three Piece Bassists. How Do You Fatten Your Sound?

I’ve pared it down to three basses, and one of them is a 12-string bass. That definately fills things in nicely. It’s like playing a 12-string guitar and a bass in unison. In a two guitar band I tend to step all over the guitars and they don’t like it. As an added note: tuning one of the octave...

Is this a real Musicman color?

Here's mine with minimal color change/fade. I removed the pick guard to show this. A lot of them turn green over time. I took these photos last week in the noon sun to show the actual color better.

    Stingray Weight

My 77 Inca Silver Stingray is about 11 lbs and it's the most comfortable one I own. I think it's because of the balance. No neck dive.
