Rob Allen - all of his are light.

My house was part of the post-WW2 boom. I've been here since '80, several remodels/upgrades over all those years.

If there are any classical music fans, YoYo Ma is extraordinary. I was fortunate to see him several times with the San Francisco Symphony both as a soloist and as part of small ensembles. He brought energy, joy and perfection every time.

If it's composers, I've always loved Aaron Copland. I felt they should play "Fanfare for the Common" when I entered my office. Of course, it never happened. If it's performers, Miles Davis. But, there are so many that are extraordinary.

My Gibson EB-2 is over 9 pounds and was lighter than the Fender P when I bought it in around '65. Even in my youth it felt heavy after a couple of sets and by the end of 4 my shoulder always hurt. Not was pretty, but the SG is much better for me now, unless I play seated (I'm old now).

I still have my Gibson EB-2 from the 60s. Just bought a new (and wonderful) case for it from Cedar Creek Custom that cost more than the bass when I bought it. It's still a great bass and I only play my SG more often because I leave it out and it's lighter.

I second the praise for Gibson. But certainly not Epiphone.

I bought a bunch of pedals, power supply, etc. and ultimately I'm not a fan and don't currently use them for bass, athough occasionally for guitar. I get much more satisfaction playing a different bass. Short scale, long scale, round wound, flat wound, fretted, fretless, ebony board, maple...

Will try to post them tomorrow. Time in closets extended the life of the old case. Army, college, career all kept it safe.
