hey there janek, first off, belated happy birthday! now on to the question and its really just a simple one.. when you compose pieces, do you also write the drum beat? ive recently gotten into composition and while i have no problem with the melody and bass.. i cant do anything about drum...

dude those guys have no emotion or feel in their playing, they play fast. /sarcasm

my definition of better (as it relates to the situation i stated above and not generally), is that the heavier bass had a fuller sound, and it filled the room.. basically it sounded more bassy while the other one, had a weak low end (like it didnt really rumble as much) and was sort of twangy...

the thing i liked about the heavier bass was that it sounded alot more "fuller" than the other one.. like it had a very big low end.. i dont really know how to describe it accurately in words. both basses had the same specs except that one (the heavier one) was single cut and the other one wasnt.

i was at a luthier's shop today and i tried both of his works.. during the course of testing the basses, i favored this particular bass over the other but my problem with it is was it was slightly heavier than normal.. the luthier goes, "thats why it sounds better." just wondering what you...

with all due respect, its not a necessity, but if you have "speed", then thats one skill you have over alot of other bassists who are satisfied with quarter/eight notes (which isnt a bad thing). i have to say though, this thread is abit demeaning to people who actually take time to practice...

just wondering guys, whats the black material that seperates the top from the body made of? is it like a really thin strip of ebony?
