Those domino mica caps do look cool.

I don't trust 70 year old caps. The electrolytics have been pulled. The paper caps are next. The mica caps might be ok but they're going too. I have pulled the transformers and am putting new wires on them. The pass through holes on the chassis didn't have grommets in them and some wires...

I'm converting a 1949 Clark PA into an amp. Learning about tubes as I go. I think the handwork on it is amazing.

Yep. Impossible to sound like a Ric without it. Also impossible to get that sound with a $100 bass with Jazz pickups, Elm body and a bolt on neck..
