Here it is: The P/Rick!

I had previously bought a Rickenbacker, which I loved for its tone, but after playing Precisions for so many years, I couldn't get used to the ergonomics (and the rosewood fretboard) and eventually sold.
Then one day, my singer/best man told me that he had bought a wood router.
Long story short, here is the P/Rick. All pickups, electronics and knobs are from a couple 4003 basses, the neck is from a Fender Am Std and the body is from Warmoth. Needless to say it needs a new pickguard and the pickups need a little bit of realigning. Also, if I decide to screw the bridge pickup on the pickguard, it will be one piece instead of two.

There is a TB member selling a Ric horseshoe bridge pickup. That would look and sound killer on that bass.

Some very cool Franken bass's here! I recently re did a couple. The first was a old p bass coupled with the pick up and electronics out of a 78 MM stingray and the 2nd was an old Yamaha RBX with the pick up that was originally in the P bass. I guess you could call it a P Ray and Yama P Haha.

Looks like a couple of Geddy's old basses have been left alone in storage a little too long!

As a tinker-and-mod-almost-anything sort though, I'm loving the Frankenbasses in this whole thread.

Well, my P/Rick got transformed to the v2. Full maple body, hand stained red mahogany colour, it's a mid delight!

Someone needs to mass produce these. I have wondered about this for years. Very cool.

Unfortunately, it wouldn't last long as RIC are very protective of their designs.
