I finally broke down and bought the SL9. I got so excited that I didnt realized I needed a speakon to 1/4 inch adapter so I am sitting here with the amp and hopefully the adapter will be here today? Do I even deserve the amp for that? lol. -Mike

Just got mine today. Translucent gold its suppose to have the brown shell pickguard which I think would look better. Anyone know where I can get one of those?

First of all, the gain maybe the problem. I turn it up and down alot depending on if the wife is home. Plus playing louder makes everything in the house rattle. I have noticed it sounds better with the gain up. I think I am using the R&B setting? Sounds like you are running the same setup...

I am using one of the factory settings they provided but I have been trying to tweek to my liking but I guess I am just having trouble doing it.

So I got rid of my Ampeg 8x10 and SVT2-PRO and pickup a Mesa 8x10 and Titan V12, WOW what a difference! This rig sounds totally different really mid heavy it seems. I am having trouble getting it to sound the way I want. Any thoughts?

Yeah I was thinking that just wanted more feedback before I spent like $300 on one.

I did a quick search, but didnt find anything. I keep getting told a sonic maximizer works wonders. What are everyones thoughts on this? I play hardcore if that makes any difference. I am running an all Mesa rig with a RBI. -Mike

I use monster cable studio pro 1000 (SP1000) speaker cable which come in like every format including Neutrik speakon connections. 6ft is like $40 though.

I am tuned to C as well. I am using an SVT-2 Pro with my SVT8x10. It took me a while to EQ everything all out but I am boosting my mids alot. I think if you spent time with setting your EQ you can get it all worked out. Most bands down tuned l have noticed are also using Ampeg (we need that...

I actually ordered my 4x10 in 4 ohm when I got it knowing that it was gonna be a stand alone (Its for my house). So I should be getting decent power from the head.

Problem solved! Thanks for the help. The tubey/growly sound is just what I am looking for. So I went ahead a got a Mesa Big Block 750 to match up with the cab.

So I have been thinking of getting a Shuttle 6.0 to go with my Mesa 4x10 anyone have any thoughts on this? I guess I am not really sure if that combo is what I am looking for?
