Kala UBass Megathread, Part 7

Anybody able to point me to where I can buy a charger for USA five string U-bass, big thanks in advance.
Try this useful tip...

This afternoon I got the brilliant idea to buy another u-bass, & this time I'm going straight to the Kala dealer up North,
but first...

has anyone had issues with their Kala acoustic over Winter?, folks who didn't humidify...

I had a Hadean fret-less u-bass & the bridge started coming up over Winter.
Would've been a C-note to fix it, so I sold it, instead.

At the time I told myself I'd never own another acoustic, but it would be nice to have one for playing out on the back porch.
Even with a tiny little VOX hybrid amp, it's still a big move to take an electric outdoors.

I finally got those Galli UXB810 Black Nylon strings...they are really great! However I see that they have now just released a flatwound version...GAS has piqued my interest yet again!
Kala has their new flatwounds out, I've heard some good things, anybody try them?
I would think intonation would be nonexistant up the neck. Would have to use fretless.
These flatwounds too are nylon-core! (Which is sure to help with intonation.)
Kala Flatwound 4-String Set by Gallistrings - Kala Brand Music Co.
Also made by Galli (Kala designation KA-BASS-4FW).

Didn't know about these, I'm very intrigued...
(The tapes also appear to be winners, just not what I'm looking for tonewise at the moment.)

I just went to install the Gilli UXB810 on my solid body 21" scale bass uke with stringthrough holes but the strings are too short. Seems Galli only made them for the Kala acoustic U-bass. Too bad, I would have used them on a number of my bass ukes. I sent a suggestion that they make a 2" longer set too.

I am concerned regarding your comments about the short sustain. That could be a deal breaker for me. I would appreciate hearing other opinions on this. Thanks for the review. Are you not using these any longer?
Just a recap -

these are the other early adopters of the post #1395 (black nylon tapewound on nylon core) set for the U·Bass, beside
@Neclepsio who AFAIK was the first to mention them here (almost a year ago, in post #1429) and then try them and report back (in the already linked-to post #1434):
@jburtonca, per post #1461;
@ellipsis, post #1491;
@DaveAceofBass, post #1475 from yesterday.

@stephencoxbass tried them at NAMM as per post #1498 (unless he had the other Galli-made, chrome flatwound on nylon core set in mind, which he discussed and showed in action in this YouTube video);
@kohanmike bought them and found them too short for the intended instrument (post #1395, two above this one).

Anyone else?
