The Squier Mini Precision Bass Club

Hey gang! My mini arrived today and I like it a lot… but I can‘t help thinking about maybe replacing the bridge and the tuners. Has anyone any recommendations about drop-in solutions for that? Not too big on taking a drill to it immediately…

This probably has been answered already but I haven’t had time to check the whole thread so thank you for any pointers!
When I first pulled mine out of the box, I thought that the tuners felt a bit wobbly. It turned out the nuts/screws were only finger tight. After going over the whole thing tightening down every nut and screw, it was much improved. The tuners, electronics, and bridge have been solid since then.

The hipshot HB6C 3/8 Ultralites drop right in and look and feel great.

Hey Gang - The long-awaited day has finally come. Our friends at LaBella have just launched a set of limited run strings the are custom made and specifically designed for the Squire Mini P (and other sub short scale basses). As some of you know, the folks at LaBella made this run specifically for the folks here at Talkbass per our request, so I hope that you'll support them and get a set to try for you Mini.

Unlike the strings that come on the Mini P, these do no have windings that wrap around the tuner itself, but are designed specifically for the shortened scale, have nice silk wrappings at both ends (just like regular LaBellas), etc. Go check them out at their store:

Are these flats, rounds, tapes?
I'm not a registered member, so I could not see them from your link.

SOLD!!

32 left!

Thanks for the tips on the Hipshot tuners! And I will check if the stock ones are too loose (common problem on budget instruments, sadly).

I’ve read somewhere that the Fender Hi Mass bridge is a drop in replacement… can anyone confirm that?

My bridge is from a full-size P Classic Vibe series and it dropped right in. I'd compare and double check the hole spacing first regardless of what anyone says. :)

I posted this on a couple bass groups on Facebook, maybe they'll sell out and make it part of their production runs...
