Never been really happy with the jacksocket on this Bass , it felt cheap , did not seem very sturdy when you plugged the jack in , so replaced with a switchcraft socket , and while the wire was out of the Bass put some gibson screened wire from the tone pot to socket . Feels more positive now...

Hi All, Just got hold of a 2012 Hagstrom Viking Bass . Pics attached . Done a lot of work on it .....1) Levelled frets....2) Re crowned them....3) Put a new nut on....4) Replaced the 6 way selector....5) Replaced the jack socket....6) Replaced the tone pot and cap on Bridge pickup....7) Opened...

Now settled for a set of Hofner Contemporary Bass Strings 040, 060, 075 , 095 , set with a high action ( I really like to "hit "my strings ) The sound through my Ampeg SVT7 and Markbass 15" cabs using a pick , sounds a bit like a Ricky , but with fingers a real 60`s sound ! Pete

Yep, these have a solid center block , and from what I was told from the Hagstrom rep , they are made in china , under strict quality control .

Hi johnk_10 , Just got hold of a 2012 Viking bass , and the selector switch is very "fragile" , sometimes misses next position etc . Looking at your diagram I cannot see where the output from the selector swich is that would go to the Volume & Tones etc.......OR AM I JUST STUPID ? Pete
