Strap question . I "rough up" the inside of the wide leather strap with some very coarse sandpaper . so it can grip your shirt - it helps stop the dive . I agree the playability , looks and build is excellent . Regarding the Cheap electronics , dont you think a few £ or $ more , for better...

Never been really happy with the jacksocket on this Bass , it felt cheap , did not seem very sturdy when you plugged the jack in , so replaced with a switchcraft socket , and while the wire was out of the Bass put some gibson screened wire from the tone pot to socket . Feels more positive now...

Just done about 5 gigs with the Hagstrom Viking ...........GREAT ! Only thing I have changed is the strings , now put Ernie Ball Extra Slinky Roundwound 040 060 070 095 . care has to be taken when winding the bottom E (095) around the string post so as not to break it . The way I thought was that it did not cost a fortune , it had a rather large chunk out of the back where the previous owner had smashed it , there are loads of dents and dings on the body , but I could hear something I liked in the sound ( sort of 60`s thump - just what I needed for the Stones...
