Hi All Does anyone know if the V9 is 60's or 70's pick up spacing?

Hi Ursus. Both of my basses are Indonesian and pickguards swapped easy enough. There were minor differences but managed to swap them over without filing or cutting.

My son suggested swapping the pick guards on my V7 and V7 Vintage. Very happy with the results :)

Well my order of a Black Vintage V7 was scuppered due to a lack of stock @ Thomann so have opted instead for the Metallic Red :) These basses are obviously very popular in Europe!

I own a white blond 4 string V7 and absolutely love it. So today I have just ordered a Black Alder maple VV7. Looking forward to hearing the differences between the two. :bassist:

I use the Dunlop superbright 40-100 strings on my V7 now. I have tried D'Addario, Rotosound, Ernie Ball, Elites with various different gauges. They are VERY bright but dial back the master tone and it's fine. The tension works really well for me; I can bend the D & G strings quite easily and...

I have a minor imperfection on one of the fret inlays below the A string. Fortunately, it doesn't affect my fretting. If it gets worse I'll take it to a tech for repair. Given the amount of money this bass cost I'll settle for a degree of imperfection as the playability and sound is perfect for me.

Despite a minor fret board issue I really love this bass. Might think of changing the pickguard to tort.

Yep. No gigbag via Thomann. You can buy it separately from them.

You are right it is a $400 bass. As I said above it doesnt effect how it plays. Will wait to see what Thomann have to say..

I have put a call in to Thomann (their UK distributor) so will update status after that. To be fair it doesn't effect how it plays but I know its there..

Aww Nuts!! Changing strings on my V7 today and noticed a chip and crack in the fret inlay between 8th and 9th frets. Upon closer inspection it looks as if there is excess glue / resin on the inlay and the chip is directly under the A string. I have definitely not knocked the guitar as I am extra...

My White Blonde V7 is back from the luthier today. Full set up and intonation done and Wow... This thing is amazing. Plays beautifully now. I don't begrudge the £65 is paid for the set up as I still have an increadible guitar for less than £400!

Finally got my White Blonde V7 booked in for a set up with a local guitar tech tomorrow. I've played around with different string makes and gauges (expensive!) but have settled on Dunlop Super Bright 45-105. I absolutely love the tone of this bass but just couldn't set the action low enough...

Hi Humberto I live in the UK and ordered mine from Thomann. Got the pick guard but no replacement knobs, T Shirt or Gig bag. You can buy the gig bag separately for about 60 euros..

Yup. I installed strap locks. I don't use Dunlop but I do use the rubber seal from a bottle of Grolsch beer! Works like a charm :-) The Grolsch Beer Guitar Strap Lock

I went through a new set of D'addario XL's in 2 weeks. Went dull very quickly. I like a bright sounding string and opted for a set of Dunlop Super Bright Nickels 40 -100 gauge. The lighter gauge and lower tension has enabled me to dial in a really low action which has made the bass play like...

Dead easy to apply and very easy to remove with no sticky residue. If you have a gig with poor lighting they do work :-)

I have a White Blonde V7 with Maple fretboard and the inlays are almost impossible to see with stage lighting but the black side dots work for me. I have also used the luminous dot markers on other basses and they work really well if you get the time to 'charge' them with a white LED light...

Set up done for tonights gig. V7 Sounded great in the sound check. Still had to dial back the bass a bit on the pre-amp

My 4 string ash maple V7 clocks in at exactly 4 kg's or 8.83 lbs. About the same as my Sub Ray 4. Going to have to take the V7 to the guitar tech to adjust the nut. Tone is awesome but would like to get a lower action and the E string does appear to be sitting quite high in the nut groove...

I took the plunge after reading so many positive reviews and ordered a Sire V7 Swamp Ash Maple 4 string in White Blonde. Only had it a day but WOW what an amazing piece of kit for £320!
