So far from the few MIC V7's that guys have received I can't tell them apart from Indonesian ones.
China does have good manufacturing facilities too, so I wouldn't be concerned if my Sire was made there.
Heck even the MIC Fenders I've seen are nice.
I should have been able to guess about the MIC thing - I knew about the Dame connection going in and it was the basis for my excitment about the MM Sire model. I don't know the full extent exactly of what Marcus' input included, but some of the Dame models (Sanctus v900 model I think it is) are at least externally nearly identical to the V7. I just didn't know Dame had a China factory. I tried very hard about 7-8yrs ago to obtain a Dame bass guitar (in part due to Andre Berry's tone and other Dame bass tones I was seeing & hearing on YouTube) the tone of the Dame basses had put me on a mission to obtain one. They just weren't available here in the US. So, really it makes complete sense for Sire to start using their parent company's Dame/China factory as they grow - there is no doubt Dame can build outstanding instruments. If Marcus himself chose a Dame-based instrument as the starting point for his signature series instrument, I'm sure there was good reason.
