If I want to connect my jazz bass like a pb bass, does the neck pickup negative go to the bridge pick-up negative? Then the bridge positive to ground?

I've learned that some came with beveled magnets and others flat What do you have? Do you leave them in or change them? I have a 2000 version that came today and it had beveled magnets. I do have a set of PV 66's that I may install , but curious what people have to say Thanks
