When I was " stabilizing " the torn dustcaps on the 2 15s that are in the Cabinet, I noticed something. When I spread my fingers and pushed in gently on the cones, the top speaker seems firm to push in, BUT...the bottom speaker moved in and out with NO effort. I did NOT feel ANY friction at all...

A friend has a couple 15 inch speakers with the center cones punched in a little, and both have tears in them. The speakers seem to work fine. Will this eventually fry them? Can he repair them with black silicone? Any knowledge is appreciated.
