Acoustic B600

I have the B-600H and also have the same amp inside my B-450 too.

It's powerful, although there are people (using an oxymoron there) who berate and despise them since they aren't the 'official name' that their grandfathers played in the '60s.

Anyway - I've been running mine for a few years - pushed them hard and they run every time.

With the Notch Filter they can be custom tuned for boomy rooms and these amps go down to 2Ω.

I feel the amps are solid, have a great old school thump and lots of brilliance with their 6 EQs turned wherever you want them.

I have also run the B-600H on a huge 2x18 cab that was exactly 2Ω, and did so for hours in a non-air conditioned studio - so hot that the drummer was slinging sweat all over the walls - and the amp held it's own, although the cooling fan went into 3rd gear and got a little loud.

It's mostly undocumented, but the cooling fan is a three speed.

I say the amps are solid, dependable and reliable. Some of the cabs are weak - the B-115 will fart easily. But the B-410 and the B-810s are clean at big volume and the whole Acoustic lineup is super cheap right now.

The only thing is the 2 ohm resistance of the cabinet, as SurferJoe points out. As long as it can handle the low resistance, it will work. Beats me what it will sound like, since I have never used a B600, but my guess is it will sound fine. A 408 will push enormous volumes of air.

I've actually been down to 1.67Ω and not had any troubles. I think the electronic tolerances are kinda gray as the range of abilities and max-min posted stats are subject to variance in components.

Still - 2Ω was acceptable to the amp as it still is running now as well- and as before- that time.

The Acoustic cabs may be somewhat budget, but the amps are solid.

In reality, the only cab I find to have significant weakness are the B-115s but the B-410s and the B-810s are all good performers if you like old school sound.
