Hello! I'd like to dye a veneer black so I can put it between my top and my body, I already added one ''layer'' on dye and made a cut into the veneer to see if it had dyed through the wood but it still was the original color, should I just continue to stain it until it stains through the wood...

I've looked for a good veneer supplier but it seems I can't find any supplier that can fit the dimension of a whole bass body, I'm also having a hard time finding veneer of non-macassar ebony, just black ebony, so if anyone knows one please let me know! Thanks!
