    Will Fender lose popularity?

May seem like a silly in question. But it seems like everywhere I play, I'm the only guy with a Fender. Everyone else has Ibanez, Cort, Washburn etc. Is there something I'm missing with these instruments? Whenever I'm talking to the other bassists they're always saying how these new Ibanez...

How could I get this bass to play comfortably.

I feel there's too much relief in the neck, but the truss rod already feels tight. I also adjusted the string height but this as low as I can get it without buzz. I'm used to really low action on guitar. Are basses usually this high? Sorry for all the questions, but you guys seem to always give...

    Gap between neck and body.

I just got a new neck put on my Jazz Bass, there is a small gap between the top of the body and the bottom of the neck. What should I do? I was thinking wood filler, but I think that would just be a mess. Thanks

    Need help chosing a neck

My truss rod broke in my Mexican standard and there is a major up-bow. So, it's pretty much toast. I was looking at getting a new neck (mainly one of those 70s style ones). Should I go with an official Fender or Warmoth? I saw some knock offs from England on eBay that claim to be Canadian maple...

Should action be higher at the bottom of the neck?

Probably a stupid question, but when I bought my Jazz bass, the action was even throughout. Now, the action is ok, up to the 12th fret. Where it's very high. I adjusted the truss rod and that helped a little bit. Do I need to adjust the individual string action? I have no idea.

    Anyone like Maurice Gibb?

He's probably my 3rd favourite bassist. Next to Paul McCartney and Mel Schacher. I'm mainly talking about the early Bee Gees material. He had a really great tone and he's often underrated. What does everyone think?

    Inlay stickers

Not sure if this is the right area to post this, but who cares? I bought some aged inlay stickers for my jazz bass from Jockomo on ebay. Has anyone had experience with these? How long do they last? Does fret polish make them curl up? Can they handle a string change? How do they come off? Thanks...

    My first "real" bass

I bought this Fender Jazz bass a few weeks ago and wanted to mod it. I painted the pick guard and installed some pickup covers. What do you guys think?

    Old peavy has no power

The bass player in my group left his peavy combo 300 at my house and it doesn't seem to switch on, anymore. It used to take a long time to get going or only switch on certain times. Now, there's nothing. I've checked all the fuses with a meter and they're fine, all the wires are connected. Could...

Is there a way to install pickup covers without drilling in?

I bought a Jazz bass and I want to install pickup covers, but i don't really want to drill in to the guitar. I've heard some people have had luck with velcro or will that ruin the finish? Any ideas

Should bass action be higher around the 12ft fret?

Some basses I've played, the action will be nice and low at the top of the neck, but farther down it gets higher. Is this normal on basses? Or is it a bowed neck?

    Is this a good deal?

I'm looking at this Rickenbacker copy under the "Logical" name. It's $500 bucks and it's got this custom paint job with 250k pots and orange drop caps (I have no idea what these are). Is this a good deal? I'm previously a guitarist wanting to try playing bass. Thanks

Am I just being a snob about this?

So I bought a 70s squier bass, and I enjoyed it but the music store sold me the display model and the action was too high, it was covered in scratches etc. So I took it back and I have the option of getting a new one or my money back. I want to get a fender 70s jazz , but they're like 800 bucks...

    Need help choosing a bass

I'm stuck between a fender standard jazz and 70s reissue jazz. I play a lot of 60s and 70s rock, prog, and psych, and I feel that the 70s is more for funk because of it's bright tones. Opinions on which one I should get?

    Is this a fair trade?

Hi! I'm new to the forum and I was wondering if you guys could help me out with this. I was thinking of trading my "92 fender Strat (Mexican made) plus 400 dollars for a 70s Ibanez Rickenbacker bass with a set neck, It is fitted with Seymour Duncan Rickenbacker pickups and Rickenbacker tuners...
