Just curious, why about half the instructional videos I've seen are opposites with the technique of dyeing a Sunburst finish? Is it darker colors first, or lighter color first? The videos are about split.

I often see custom necks for jb ir pb which are very nice. Does this mean all body neck pockets, and necks of the same vein will "fit" with just minor shimming? I believe I have read the distance between bridges and the start of the neck is differently spaced on the different scale basses...

I have a fretless neck with scrolling inlays the entire length. I've noticed the inlays are now slightly raised. I'm guessing this isn't the most desirable on a fretless bass. Is the answer to sand the entire neck flat again?
