I never thought Zep was very good live. Page gets kinda sloppy live. But having said that, Blackmore live gets a little sloppy too. I guess maybe they get tired of playing the same way every show so they just kinda let it fly.

And I have 5 DP albums and the first 3 Zep albums. After that Zep kinda lost me.

That's what I found out bigtone23. It's tough to find an old one. Just got lucky with the eBay one. I thought for sure it would sell for more.

Thanks guys. We found one on eBay. Original 70's. Got it for $243. Really didn't want to spend that much but at that price for an original.......Works and sounds great!

I contacted Sweetwater and they told me the reissue ones (Squier?) are discontinued and are hard to find. I may have to have one built. The search goes on...Thanks

I've been finding that out during my research. I'm just not ready to spend $400+ on a pickup, used or new. lol Gonna keep searching. Appreciate all the help for sure. :thumbsup:

I don't have a pickup to rewind. Somewhere in it's life the pickup was removed and replaced with a Precision type. A butcher job was done on it. I want to get it back as close to original as I can and that leads to my pickup search. Didn't think it would be so hard to find a Fender pickup.:)

Where in the world can I find a pickup for a 1972 Telecaster bass? It has a single humbucker . Reverb has an original one for over $400. I'm not looking to spend that much. Is there an after market or Squire pickup that will fit and work good?

I bought a Ibanez SR300DX for $100 and put Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders in it that I had laying around waiting for a use . I always liked the way it played and the thin neck but the pickups were rather blah. So changed out the pickups and the guts and now it's just a great playing bass that...

My SR300DX with Seymour Duncan pickups and new wiring. Really brought it to life. Great "cheap" bass.

I know this is a very old post but I was wondering just how easy it was to do the pickup swap. I have a SR300DX also and I am thinking about doing the same job. Mine is the model that has 3 control knobs ..not 4.

I found the answer to removing the front panel on this site. Remove the Ampeg name plate on the front...screw a small dry wall screw part way in the hole nearest the upper left corner ....use plyers to pull on the screw and the front panel comes right off. Yes, those little velcro holders are...
