Help "letting go" a band member

The issue is that this is my first band. I have never fired anyone. Our band is like family. Try telling your mom that she sucks at being a mom so you are replacing her. A band need to be like family, or else it's like work. What's the point in being in a band if its work. We love what we do...

Dumbest thing I've ever been told at a gig. Ever.

At our last show, we were done and saying a few last words. The sound guy kills the mics as I am saying congrats to my gfs little sister for graduating, then goes upstairs and goes to bed. Apparently he lives above the bar. I just couldn't believe he couldn't wait till we was done lol.

I would agree if he was a good drummer to begin with. Like I said, he is a friend, but a horrible drummer. He doesn't know hot to tune his set properly. It just always sounds like crap. And he can't keep a tempo to save his life. So either way he's not a good suit for the band.

We don't have another drummer yet, but we are gonna do a acoustic "tour" until we find one. We play all original and all are written acoustically then we add all the fun stuff. So everything sounds amazing both ways (not trying to toot our horn lol. Guitarist just writes some bad ass tunes).

    Ibanez acoustic bass

I am looking at buying an ibanez AEB5E. I am very poor, but they are a reasonable price. Wondered if anyone has one and has played out with it. Just wondering if its worth it. Thanks

Help "letting go" a band member

So here's the deal. I am bass player/manager of a 3 man band. The drummer just quit showing up to practice. Then told me and the guitarist that we need more practice. We had a show last Thursday and we bombed it. Played through every song when it was supposed to end, and had to stop playing in...

    Bassists Who Drive Manual Club!

I own a 2002 Acura RSX-S which is manual, but I'm trying to sell it. I am currently driving a manual 2000 chevy metro.

Finally got to play my amp at a band practice and man the thing just ****ing rocks! I haven't turned the volume up past 3 yet. The sound quality is great too! It over all is an amazing rig.

Dumbest thing I've ever been told at a gig. Ever.

I read through all of these and literally laughed out loud. I am in my first band and haven't played any shows yet. After reading these I am excited and filled with terror at the same time. Hahaha

    New amp

When I got the head, it was clearanced at gc for 250 then when he rang it up it came up at 205. The cab I got online for 225 including tax, so I'd say I did good. Unfortunately I haven't got to play it yet. I am at work right now. My guitarist/singer hooked it up for me and set up the eqs. So...

    Finger picking

I am semi new to playing bass. I know how to finger pick for the most part, but any time I do I always get a muted or muffled sound. Is there any way to get that to stop. My drummer gets on me all the time for playing with a pick hahaha

    Inexpensive and Good?

I got a Laguna bass with active pick ups for 200 new. I personally love it. It sounds good and plays nice. Just my opinion.

    What cab?

Well, I just bought a rumble 410 for 225 including shipping. I didn't think that was too bad.

    What cab?

    Janky-A Rigs of Doom

This is my rig. Compressor, into amp, into peavey pa speaker with attached sub! Oh yea lol

    What cab?

Ok, thanks. Anything is better than my current rig. Lol if that shows how poor I am. Lol

    What cab?

I recently purchased a Fender Rumble 350 head (not the combo amp). I still need to get a cab. I am on a very tight budget. I was looking at the Fender Rumble 410 cab, acoustic 410 cab, or a peavey 410 headliner. I just wanted to get some opinions. I play in a rock band. We will be doing gigs...
