    “Feeling” the bass

I disagree - a studio is a very different place than a live setting. Besides my original question and the reason for this post is for ideas and suggestions on how to “feel” what I am playing

    “Feeling” the bass

I use Sures 869s - they fit me well and they seal well. No other musician plays a low frequency instrument - Drummers “feel” What they play because they have a direct connection with their instrument, they are usually on a riser

    “Feeling” the bass

I play at a lot of venues where, 90% of the time, I don’t have a bass amp onstage—just a mixer for my in-ear monitor mix. The problem is that I just can’t feel the bass. I can hear it just fine, but I don’t get the same physical response, and I don’t play my best because of it. I’m thinking...

HI- John east is a british company, their preamps are amazing, so much control, https://www.bestbassgear.com/uni-pre-4-knob.htm?srsltid=AfmBOoqSy8Q47G2--a6XYiZCul61L9i_rjMvRDCj-YzFn67Bb2G11XSC The preamp that it came with was a sadowsky preamp with a mid boost switch (not very useful in my...

    Thinking about that next bass…

find a shop or store that you can play it yourself, you wont know until you hold it and play it....everything else people suggest is subjective and pretty much useless
  18. ragetoca

    Ken smith

35" scale though....and you feel it
  19. ragetoca

    Ken smith

Depends how much magic your budget allows...... The OP is talking about costs and worries about spending too much, I was just giving options
  20. ragetoca

    Ken smith

Any bass with soapbars in a modern position will get you a similar tone. Roscoe - Sadowsky - Peavey Cirrus - Jones - MTD - I've even modded cheap Yamaha BBn5s and got 90% tone or a smith
  21. ragetoca

    Ken smith

I have owned 3 Peavey Cirrus and Lots of Sadowskys.....I would say if your budget is lower get a peavey but note that it is 35" scale...you will feel it.... Sadowsky Moderns are amazing, I would get a Japanese (2000s era) or if you can afford a NYC get one......german metros would be my last option
  22. ragetoca

    Inset pick guards?

With CNC machines it would be no issue making one

    A theoretical game....

Give it time - let it grow on you. Play it as much as possible

I could have lived with all of that if the price was right....I have done extensive work on my basses before, I see that and it does not scare me much, but again, depends on price..
