I am familiar with those! I don't need that, but the profile on my 2012 American Std Jazz is pretty spot on I think. I've not actually played a 70s or similar so don't know how a thicker J neck feels. I might have to try talking the NZ Rockshop into stocking Caprices;)

Hello Again, I did some research on the net (i think during my day y'all asleep;)) and managed to fix it myself. I adjusted pickup heights and found the best level. Then I moved action up a small amount, barely noticeable to playability, and this really helped! I think the extra clank and buzz...

Ha I thought I edited that before anyone noticed! Seriously though, In a hurry I write what comes into my head, and don't stop to think about a more succinct way of getting my point across.

Update: I took this to local luthier Keith McMillan. We had a bit of phone tag trying to tee up a time to take the bass in, and when he finished filing the nut on a Friday afternoon, I got my card out to pay and he waved me off, saying don't worry as it was a bit of hassle getting here etc...
