    Rickenbacker Shoes

As stupid as those are, they're kinda dope
  2. pbayneg

Yes, even G&L doesn't get it right all the time!

Haha, my father used to have a bass boat and went large mouth fishing. Every time I see a sparkle finish, I instantly think of my dad's old red sparkly boat

Dead E string on Rickenbacker 4003

I've had several RICs each strung with Rotos and have gone through several packs and have never personally had issues with them (either strings or frets) but wouldn't doubt if others have had issues

Dead E string on Rickenbacker 4003

I'm actually really glad to hear this, I've bought a RIC truss rod adjustment wrench (yeah, I know I could get any wrench that fits, but I figured I'll be adjusting truss rods for multiple RICs at some point in time) and will try messing with it once it comes in. I'll get back once I've messed...

Dead E string on Rickenbacker 4003

Yeah, the only thing I haven't messed with at all is the truss rods, which I'll probably look at sometime this weekend

Dead E string on Rickenbacker 4003

I've used rotosounds on a few other Rics I've owned and never had issues with them. Also, like I said, I swapped the E string with another brand new E string and had the same effect

Dead E string on Rickenbacker 4003

Dead E string on Rickenbacker 4003

Well, I replaced the E string with the E string from another bass that sounded good, and got the same results after restringing, so it's definitely something with the bass and not a dud string out the package

Dead E string on Rickenbacker 4003

Acoustically, not much difference in volume, but doesn't have the ring/zing or top end. I almost feel there is a problem with the nut or bridge but I'm not sure how

Dead E string on Rickenbacker 4003

So, I've just finally finished setting up my new (new to me) Rickenbacker 4003. I installed new pickups, new wiring harness, new 4003v2 bridge, and strings. Everything sounds and feels great with the exception of the E string. The E string sounds dead and almost like the tone knob is turned down...

    Fender Original Seventies Jazz

I love the thick "U" neck and maple board with white binding and inlays, but trying to get rid of mine right now. If anyone's interested, PM me.

How do you feel with selling your basses?

I'm selling 2 of my 3 basses right now. I don't need either of them and prefer my Ric, things don't often hold any sentimental value with me.

    Input on new bass

Am I playing a bit too hard?

I've been trying out the really hard playing for the cool tone it gives off. I do play softer depending on the part of the song. Yes, I mainly play with my middle finger, yet add in my index with really fast stuff. I've just been playing my guitar (with a pick) until it gets better.

Am I playing a bit too hard?

Yeah, I've had calluses the whole time, but the blisters developed under them. And yeah, Ric with Roto 66's

Am I playing a bit too hard?

Damn, I knew I was forgetting something, lol
  27. pbayneg

Am I playing a bit too hard?

    1. Yeah, no burns or anything. I only felt it after I stopped playing, it was the same thing with the first blister. 2. I mainly use my middle finger, but add in my index for faster stuff, and even the ring finger for really fast stuff. Roto 66's, hard/prog rock, it makes the tone sound really...

Am I playing a bit too hard?

I've been playing for almost 3 years now, so these aren't from being a new player. I got the first blister about a week ago and just got this one. I always play aggressively, and now play even harder. You guys think my new technique is a little rough for my finger? I think I'll keep playing...

I put a fender hi-mass bridge on my jazz just because it looks nicer, don't know if I can feel/hear a difference, I at least like the look, and that was worth it to me

What bass would you like to see brought back.

    Any discontinued Rickenbacker
