    Drum machine for idiots

I recently bought a Swissonic DR-101 from Thomann https://www.thomann.de/it/swissonic_dr_101.htm Sounds pretty good to me and it's rather easy to use. And it costs just 69€.

    Mini dirt pedal?

In fact, the Hooker's green bass machine kicked my russian big muff out of the pedalboard. However, in my experience, to get high distortions you need to hit it with a strong signal. If I plug my bass directly into the pedal i get at the most a nicely overdriven sound. I have a markbass...

    Mini dirt pedal?

I second the Hooker's green bass machine. Excellent pedal, not expensive, and with plenty of bass.

Is there a Yamaha BB club? There is now!

Yamaha announced two new colours for the 734/5, available here in Europe. Fired red and indigo blue. I like both.

Thank you for your replies! I'm so glad I asked... I guess I'll bring the Rumble stack then!

    Fender Rumble Club

Dear rumblers, I need your advice. I have a gig coming in two weeks, my first gig in 26 years, basically a new start. I play in one of the three bands scheduled for the night, and one of the bands will provide a bass cabinet, a Marshall 4x10 800w at 4 ohms. I guess the bass players of the two...

    C Standard/Stoner Doom string gauge?

I have a P bass tuned in C standard with Rotosound nickel 50-70-90-110. They are loose but they sound surprisingly good to me.

Pedal for sustained distorted stoner/doom/drone bass

I bought and EHX Freeze and placed it before the distortion/fuzz, just because it seems more rational to me. I think it work quite nicely this way, but I haven't tried it after dirt.

Pedal for sustained distorted stoner/doom/drone bass

Thank you all for the suggestions! I guess I'll give the Freeze a try

Pedal for sustained distorted stoner/doom/drone bass

Thank you for your feedbacks! I guess the Freeze is worth a try, being also the less expensive of the options. This is also very interesting, but significantly more expensive than the Freeze. Thanks! Thank you for the suggestion. The Superego (non plus) is an interesting option. I wonder if...

Pedal for sustained distorted stoner/doom/drone bass

I need some pedals suggestion. I play in a stoner/doom band. I split my signal through an EHX Tri Parallel Mixer to mix clean and effected signals. In the loop I have a fuzz, a phaser and a flanger (both set with very slow rate), always on. On top of this I can add more dirt through the other...

Is there really such a thing as a MIM Squier?

I'm sure they even used Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF), certainly in Japan in the early 90s

need a 5-string. Inexpensive, not cheap

You have good taste for names! ;) To the OP: I don't know about the second hand market in Germany, but here in Italy there are a few second hand Yamaha TRBX305 on sale. They go for about 250€.

Is there a Yamaha BB club? There is now!

I just saw a picture of Sanshiro's bass with the screws filling the holes and in fact it is beautiful. Thanks for the answer.

Thanks! Not what I expected but it actually makes perfectly sense, also reading again the posts before that picture.

Is there a Yamaha BB club? There is now!

@hypercarrots Few weeks ago you posted a picture of two beautiful BB734A without pickguards (post #5129). Another user asked you how you filled the pickguard screw holes, but I couldn't find an answer. I'm also very interested in this so I would appreciate if you could reply. Thanks!

    New Yamaha BB series

It sounds exactly as the problem I'm experiencing. I guess I will return it. Thank you for your help.

    New Yamaha BB series

Thanks a lot for the feedback. I just read in another thread about a guy having phase issues with a PJ configuration, and he was experiencing exactly the same behaviour, with two strings sounding normal and two becoming hollow. Inverting the wires he just switched the working strings (from E and...

    New Yamaha BB series

Thank you for the suggestion. It's brand new, so I could quite easily return it. I also wrote to Yamaha support to have their opinion.

Is there a Yamaha BB club? There is now!

I just got a brand new BB734A and I fear there might a problem with it. When the pickup balance is in the middle position I experience a volume drop and the sound of E and A string becomes much "thinner". As soon as I move a bit (clockwise or counterclockwise) the volume increases and the volume...
