"In the modern age it seems not all watts are created equal. The 140 watts to internal speaker RB-200 is loud and it has a superior EQ section to the Ampeg RB-115, which is not as loud w/ same wattage. I also had and just sold my RB800 210 neo combo because the RB-200 is just as loud but w/ the warm chest thump of a 15" speaker. For my gigs it's all I need; ... ... ... "

It looks to me like the extension cab has to be 8 ohms or higher.Dear rumblers, I need your advice.
I have a gig coming in two weeks, my first gig in 26 years, basically a new start.
I play in one of the three bands scheduled for the night, and one of the bands will provide a bass cabinet, a Marshall 4x10 800w at 4 ohms. I guess the bass players of the two other bands will bring theirs amp heads, not willing to share them.
I have a rumble combo 500 v3 and also the rumble 210 extension cabinet. My questions is: is the combo compatible with the Marshall cabinet? I guess it is, but my understanding of these technicalities is quite limited...If so, I could just bring the combo and connect it to the Marshall, otherwise I need to carry also the Rumble 210 cabinet.
Thank you for you help!

What about women ?
I had a girlfriend that weighed 105 lb and one that weighed 145.
105 pounder was louder than the 145 when they were mad![]()
The R200c is certainly worth revisiting, Yah-Yah! But, I smell inaccuracy and exaggeration in the review.
Watts are all equal because they are measurements, but their meanings get spun by marketers, and their usages get spun by reviewers!
Reviewers may sometimes have even less relation to the truth than marketers!
- The Ampeg RB-115 is only 100 watts standalone, vs the Rumble 200 at 140w.
- There's no such designation as "RB-200" or "RB800", neither Ampeg nor Rumble.
- No way the R200c at 140w can get "just as loud" as the R800c at 400w turned up.
Aha! Just the snobbish self-portrait I was looking for.Thank you, Yah! See my avatar!
Perceived volume is different from actual volume, for sure. We also don’t know his bass or its settings, or the amp settings and whether they were identical. Or what he likes to hear. Then there’s the possibility of hearing loss; highs tend to go first, which would reinforce your last idea. His volume opinion share between R200 and R800 are interesting part. Haha....
But if compare between R800 and R500 side by side,I found that R500 sound slightly fuller and deeper. R800 sound more to modern and crispy side.
I think maybe the new voice character on R800 make his hearing confuse the deep and bigger low end on R200 has equal volume as R800.
Exactly this. All of the volume is at the beginning, rather than an even and smooth volume rise.I think you mean between "0" (as in off) up to a little less than 2, like a typically marked volume control?
I think I know what you mean...mine seems like there is a lot of volume boost at the very beginning of the rotation. Mine goes from off, and then just barely at 1 for practicing, where even set to "2" its already quite loud. Whereas the rest of the rotation of the volume knob isn't as linear.
My only real complaint about my Rumble 500 is the volume control. I have yet to play a stage where I need to set it louder than about 1.5. Anyone come up with a way to modify it so it isn’t necessary to leave it so low? Is there a replacement pot that you can install ?

I have yet to need full volume on my R100. Yet I typically play through two for the even better tone. But when I need to use just one, it still works quite well. After playing through this combo for a while now, I am really quite impressed with the tone, power and light weight of my Rumble 100 (newest version). While I don't ever see the need for more power/volume I like that I can add another Rumble 100 and via the effects send/return and put two of them together for a super lightweight dual 12" rig if needed.
