Fender Rumble Club

Hey ya all, new Rumble 800 owner here.
Brought it without trying it, based on positive reviews.
Love how light it is, been playing for nearly 45 years, and my old gear seems to be getting heavier (Marshall 8x10 + VBA400 tube head).
Looking forward to using this at the next gig.
Let's get ready to "Rumble" !!!

Kia ora, gummy! @gumtown, you are now member #1795 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome. Put that number in your TalkBass Signature for safe keeping. Then make yourself at home here and on your Rumble Club Wiki page, the repository of all Rumbling wisdom and knowledge.

So, how about telling us a bit about yourself, gum, such as your bass experience in general and your Rumble journey in particular? You'll fit right in here since we have all kinds. But we all love to ... ... ...

Rumble On!
.

After playing through this combo for a while now, I am really quite impressed with the tone, power and light weight of my Rumble 100 (newest version). While I don't ever see the need for more power/volume I like that I can add another Rumble 100 and via the effects send/return and put two of them together for a super lightweight dual 12" rig if needed.

I am actually wanna revisit the R200 combo again and planing to chain it up with Ampeg RB112 ...... but i order another RB112 after try them .

Maybe i will back to Rumble club again when Rumble V4 announce.......

What could they possibly improve upon to come out with a new version that the V3 doesn't already do? Unless they are just using the V4 revision name to include the Pre/Post switch already available on the latest V3's?

Wishing the rumble V4 has tube-ist quality overdrive , gain knob has actual function , delta comp has on/off switch on control panel and fine tune the voice more close to 2000-2005 Bassman combo.

Since I am happy with 12in driver combo ( Ampeg RB112 ) current day, I hope V4 has slightly larger combo size, update to 150 watts and weight control under 13kg.

I prefer the current Rumble 100 tone just as it is. The gain knob on all amplifiers all have the same function (boosting the preamp to a suitable level). There are already enough controls on the amps themselves to provide quite an array of tonal differences. Anything beyond that is what I use my Zoom for.

My Rumble 100 is a 100 watt amp, and they also carry a Rumble 200 (200 watts) and two others. An extra 50 watts isn't really going to add much to the Rumble 100. If I need more power/volume (which I don't envision, but perhaps in the future) adding another Rumble 100 as a powered extension cab (via the effects loop on both) would give me essentially a lightweight 212 combo with more than enough power and volume.

I'm curious. Do you own a Fender Rumble? There isn't one listed in your signature and you refer to your Ampeg RB112 which is an entirely different combo.

More than likely it would just be a Marketing thing . . . the All New Fender Rumble V4 with AI! These days even toothbrushes need to say they have AI to get noticed.

To me the V4 could use:
  • a pre and post DI. The post DI could use an independent volume control and multiple Cab Sims for the post DI.
  • a more tube like overdrive.
  • EQ centers could be a little more towards the true flat setting. Not do so much the full true flat setting (i.e., 10, 2, 2, 10), but not as heavily mid scooped as the all noon setting. The mid scoop is what the CONTOUR button is for.
Just a few ideas of what I'd like to see in a next gen Rumble.

And bump up the prices by $100+.
Thanks, but :rollno:.

??? The Rumble 100 V3 already has 12 inch driver and is 9.98 kg. ???

Each individual item might not cost much more, but together they probably would. The current EQ centers were probably purposely chosen to get that traditionally recognizable "Fender tone". The CONTOUR is for more mid scoop AND high & low boost.

A tube preamp would be a way to one-up the Ampeg RB line.

??? And also add hundreds of $$$ to the price! See Invalid Link Removed prices.

I been own rumble from V1 100/210 , V2 75/112 and V3 200/150. Also own a used Bassman 25/110 too. Both V1 and V2 has USA Eminence driver upgrade.

You can read my old post and hope you enjoy my earlier rumble Photoshop edit idea too.

After the V3 rumble 200 combo, I moved to Hartke KB15, Tech 21 VT200 combo and settle with Ampeg RB112 at the moment.

On Rumble V3 line, I prefer 200/150 sound more, when rumble V3 launch, I try 100-500 model, the 100 just sound boxy and fart out pretty fast that I remember. I believe FMIC fix this issue after that.

@G-Dog
What did the Rumble 500 head sell for ?
