I salvaged an Extron XPA 2001-70V 200W power amp from a conference room on the off chance I could use it with a pre-amp to drive a cabinet. Do any of you with more knowledge know if this could be used for that? I don’t think they make an instrument cable that would connect to the green output...

No, there really isn’t a middle ground with so many of these things. Unless you fully disconnect from the internet, you either update or your “thing” stops working as advertised.

See NKBassman’s comment above showing the information in the manual on combining the channels. You can call Tech21 if you want to get their blessing, but I suspect they will tell you to remove the screws and switch the jumper as was shown in the video Gearhead17 posted. At least then you can...

From the way it sounds from the manual, unless you move that jumper, you would need one amp for each output. If you are hesitant to remove the screws and change the jumper, take it to someone capable of doing that. It really is a simple change as long as you unplug the power cord.

I thought phasing was ruled out as it happens on his combos as well, and when using a headphone connection. That was why I asked if poor power conditions could cause this since it seems to only affect gear in his house. Maybe try a true power conditioner or sine wave UPS.

Ugh. This just started on my BTB675. Volume on bass turned all the way down, but still noise. I was just about to order a replacement neutrik jack, but it sounds like that isn’t the issue.

Solder joints have been fixed, including several done (attempted?) at the factory. I had always heard about how hot the MFD pickups were, but they never blew me away. After re-soldering everything and with the replacement pickup installed, I was stunned how loud it now is.

Yep, hack soldering job from me. Thanks @dwizum for the suggestion. I touched up the output jack connections and there is improvement, but it isn’t great. Time for a new soldering iron to re-do all the connections.

Thanks, most likely poor re-soldering on the output jack. When I took it apart to replace the pickups, those two connections came apart. As for re-soldering, I don’t have a fine tip, just a big chisel tip but I can make it work.

I finally received the replacement bridge pickups and replaced them. Presumably I did something wrong when soldering them back in because now I have to have volumes near 100% to get sound. As I desoldered one connection I soldered in the new pickup wire, so I don’t think I mis-wired anything...
