"What?"Reason is often applied during sound check, with promises made. But, as the emotions (and/or imbibements) of the gig progress, reason (along with good judgment) often takes a back seat to feelings; in small steps at first, then sometimes, bigger ones.
It's also a cruel fact that our ears become accustomed to high sound levels, unfortunately seeming to require certain increases to balance our (then flawed) perceptions. But the mechanics of our equipment are much less forgiving than our ears, at least in the short term. No, the ears wait, sometimes for many years, to take their revenge for their past abuses.

I blew my ears but not my speakers because I listened to the speakers and didn't push them past their limits. My ears? Hearing aids are a lot more expensive than amps, cabs and ear plugs. I learned the hard way

Between spending 6 months on an aircraft carrier, playing in fairly loud rock bands in the 70s-80s, and sitting next to/behind big diesel motors in big trucks for 23 years, my hearing is far from perfect. I'm a huge fan of the Rumble 115. For its price (currently lowered to a resonable $299) it cannot be beat for portability, and responsiveness. Without a doubt there are other great 15" cabs out. But I am talking about the combination of Price, Portability and Sound. Rumble 115 is not the end all and be all but it is a danged good 15" cabinet. Good for all yer bass playing needs. I am GASSING badly for a second one.
If Fender offered a Rumble 215? I'd be right on it.
If you look closely at the Fender specs (the real tiny fine print) it mentions something about
'special Fender anti-gravity portawiget are inserted...'
If I was playing out, a second R115 would definitely be on my buy list...especially at the reduced price. Where else can you find a light weight 15"er, with wheels, that sounds so good, for $299.00? I would prefer 2-R115 cabs in order to choose how many to take.
I would suspect that Fender discontinues models because of lower sales volumes, market trends and what they think will sell in the future. Only time will tell if they, and their market, accepts the changes.
Hiya Mr Soul! I just figure a single 215 (just maybe) unit might be overall more compact than two R115s. Unfortunatly this dream unit would necessarily be a few pounds heavier.
Two R115s are decidedly the best way to go but a Rumble 215 is my dream unicorn.
I played through several 2x15 cab configurations in my wayward youth. But I don't remember them sounding as good or satisying as the Rumble cabinet. Science and engineering, go figure!
Hey, Chuck! Would you consider a Rumble 212 cab at minimal additional cost and weight to the 210? Some of us here have been lobbying
I admit to having been a 15" snob before auditioning the 210 R500c, but it changed my mindset. As I've said many times, the latest at the top of this page, that the 210 Rumble sounds just as good as my Bassman Neo 115! Science and engineering, indeed!

Well, @CharleyJackson, I too played with a 2-15 D140F cab back in the 60s and it was the best but a heavy beast. Sixty years later, I would be happy with lighter R115 cabs. Two singles would be more manageable (for me), than one!
I would also prefer to have two 115 cabinets instead of a 215. But.... I could do without the side handles and the casters. Just make it fit properly under a 200 or 500 with a handle on top like the 200. It would also be so, so, so much lighter. It would sure look much more uniform and professional. Seems like good common sense to me.

My mind tells me of course I should/would consider Rumble 212, even the 210. Funny thing my Very First Bass Rig was a Saint George head paired with an orphaned Bandmaster cab (2x12). Played at low volume to not destroy those guitar speakers. We were backing a James Taylor type act.
But I am heart and soul a 15" guy through and through. There's no logic to it, yeah I know.....
Yeah, I, too, am/was a 15" snob so my first Rumble was the R200cV3. If I'd known the daisy chain 'trick', I woulda got 2 R100s. Used one where it was enuff, both where needed. I've played through 2 R100s, and for me the tone was perfect. If I got a good enuff deal, I might trade the 200c for a new 100.

From what folks here say, I might like the 210cab/R500c, but I'm not starting over.

And more hassle than wrangling an SVT rig at times, based on what I've seen in friends in fam.
